Spectators: 6768 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1768, VIP seats: 0) When Bob Dinwoodie came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Livingston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bob Dinwoodie couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grant Cowan in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Davie France prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Davie France made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David McQuarrie in the 11th minute of play. Livingston's Davie France played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grant Cowan in the 18th minute of play. David McQuarrie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bob Dinwoodie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Livingston's Gregor Combie got a free kick in the 33rd minute. David McQuarrie struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Davie France didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grangemouth. Gregor Combie in the 40thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tommy Kinnell, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 47th minute, Dylan Suttie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Grangemouth's Henry McCluskie couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 48th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Livingston. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David McQuarrie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tommy Kinnell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bob Dinwoodie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Johnny Ogilvy kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Bob Dinwoodie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Bob Dinwoodie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grant Cowan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Davie France tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grant Cowan might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Davie France. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Grant Cowan ran back to his position shaking his head. David McQuarrie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Grangemouth getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Henry McCluskie hit a great ball. Tommy Kinnell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregor Combie in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 75th minute of the match Dylan Suttie sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tommy Kinnell skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Livingston's Davie France got control of the ball when Grant Cowan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Livingston's Mike McCartney got a free kick in the 77th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Grant Cowan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grangemouth's supporters rose to their feet, but Grant Cowan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Davie France breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute David McQuarrie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Davie France saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Livingston booed when Grangemouth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Lachie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bob Dinwoodie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kinnell having to interfere. In the 87thth minute of the game Gregor Combie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grangemouth's Tommy Kinnell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Grant Cowan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Livingston's Bob Dinwoodie got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Livingston fans cheered their team off the field, for while Grangemouth had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
