The referee ignored Lasswade's protests and gave Keith Millar a yellow card for diving instead. Blair Dinwoodie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Bunten having to interfere. In the 13th minute Ciaran McRobb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Fullarton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Blair Dinwoodie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Greg McCraw charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Greg McCraw the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Lasswade booed when Real Madrid FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greg McCraw didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Fullarton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gareth Carlyle in the 42nd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the game, Dylan McCraw was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lasswade's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Madrid FC the free kick. Dylan McCraw hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute Blair Dinwoodie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greg Bunten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, Rick Forester hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Keith Millar was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 79th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Real Madrid FC's Eric Fletcher got a free kick in the 82nd minute. When Lasswade's Ciaran McRobb, in the 83rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Lasswade. Harry Dempster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Daniel Fullarton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Ciaran McRobb left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lasswade fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Lasswade were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
