Spectators: 7751 (Terracing: 5815, Seating: 1782, VIP seats: 154) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ivan Jamieson took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ronan McRankin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Alistair McInroy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gorbals United's Alistair McInroy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronan McRankin in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronan McRankin in the 12th minute of play forced Gorbals United's goalkeeper Alistair McInroy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Matt Basnett came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Gorbals United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matt Basnett couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ivan Jamieson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Michael McGill. That made the score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. With a little luck, Kirkliston AFC's Michael McGill got control of the ball when Derek McRurie tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Derek McRurie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Ivan Jamieson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gorbals United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan Jamieson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michael McGill breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ivan Jamieson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Michael McGill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michael McGill was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Derek McRurie capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Derek McRurie really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Kirkliston AFC's zone, Ivan Jamieson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michael McGill came out of the goal and Ivan Jamieson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivan Jamieson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ronan McRankin came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Kirkliston AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronan McRankin couldn't finish the play. Derek McRurie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Michael McGill made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Ronan McRankin made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Gorbals United's Iain Dewar got a free kick in the 50th minute. In the 52nd match minute, Kirkliston AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murray Thomson to maneuver through the defense. After 56 played minutes Gorbals United got a freekick which was hit by Lloyd McDonnell. Derek McRurie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael McGill having to interfere. After having played for 60 minutes, Derek McRurie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gorbals United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Derek McRurie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Michael McGill stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivan Jamieson's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Ivan Jamieson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Michael McGill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kirkliston AFC's Michael McGill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derek McRurie in the 67th minute of play. Michael McGill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Jamieson, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Kirkliston AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Jamieson came free, but Michael McGill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gorbals United's Ivan Jamieson in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kirkliston AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Ronan McRankin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alistair McInroy having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Gorbals United fully deserved thier win.
