Lasswade's Greg Bunten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Jamieson in the 14th minute of play. Harry Dempster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alistair McInroy having to interfere. Alistair McInroy didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Harry Dempster went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Harry Dempster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivan Jamieson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Greg Bunten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Derek McRurie notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Lasswade's Greg Bunten. Greg Bunten was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Derek McRurie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Gorbals United's zone, Ciaran McRobb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alistair McInroy came out of the goal and Ciaran McRobb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciaran McRobb in the 57th minute of play forced Gorbals United's goalkeeper Alistair McInroy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Ivan Jamieson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Alistair McInroy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Dempster in the 61st minute of play. After 63 played minutes Lasswade got a freekick which was hit by Dylan McCraw. In the 64th minute of the match, Derek McRurie got a very nice opportunity to score, but Greg Bunten was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 67 minutes into the game, Ciaran McRobb cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Alistair McInroy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A hard shot 75 in the game by Derek McRurie from a close distance when the talented Greg Bunten managed to make a qualified save. Lasswade's players were relieved. Steve Campbell charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Steve Campbell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Lasswade's Steve Campbell got a free kick in the 76th minute. The audience was convinced that Ivan Jamieson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Greg Bunten was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Ciaran McRobb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alexander McCeallaich took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alistair McInroy. Gorbals United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Gorbals United's Ivan Jamieson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Ivan Jamieson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Greg Bunten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Gorbals United booed when Lasswade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry Dempster didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute of the match, Lloyd McDonnell tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Greg Bunten saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
