The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nicholas Casey scored 1-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Troy McDuffie, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 25 played minutes Tutanota City got a freekick which was hit by Innes Davis. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Earlston's goalkeeper Troy McDuffie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gus McCraw's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Troy McDuffie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Alexander McChlerich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Martin Hutchenson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Hutchenson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shaun Clyne in the 45th minute of play. Tutanota City's Martin Hutchenson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander McChlerich in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Troy McDuffie didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicholas Casey went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Darius Cattanach's late challenge caught a Tutanota City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Darius Cattanach helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gus McCraw in the 62nd minute of play forced Earlston's goalkeeper Troy McDuffie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes in the game, Shaun Clyne fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Martin Hutchenson having to interfere. If Shaun Clyne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 82 minutes of play, Earlston's Alexander McChlerich made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martin Hutchenson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hamish McKilligan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despite being the better team, Earlston failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
