Tim Garvie was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 15th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Arthur McAdie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willie Hill in the 20th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Lanark AFC's Jamie McDermid got a free kick in the 20th minute. The audience was convinced that Willie Hill's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arthur McAdie was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tyler Comrie in the 29th minute of play forced Lanark AFC's goalkeeper Arthur McAdie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ken Boyes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry Loudoun, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Arthur McAdie didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Willie Hill went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Angus McAskill during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 43 played minutes Lanark AFC got a freekick which was hit by Angus McAskill. Willie Hill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Arthur McAdie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Willie Hill during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Willie Hill kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Ken Boyes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexander Ross's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 64th minute Lanark AFC were awarded a corner. Tim Garvie went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 66th match minute, Aberdeen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Munro McCoull to maneuver through the defense. Tyler Comrie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Arthur McAdie made a huge save. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Aberdeen FC's Willie Hill in the 76th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Arthur McAdie was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Lanark AFC through an amazing save. Rob Connolly lost his temper 78 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lanark AFC! Willie Hill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Aberdeen FC's goalkeeper Ken Boyes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Lanark AFC's zone, Willie Hill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arthur McAdie came out of the goal and Willie Hill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 94th minute by Willie Hill got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 97th minute, Aberdeen FC's Tyler Comrie dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Aberdeen FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
