But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Taylor Basnett couldn't finish the play. In the 10th minute, Taylor Basnett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Beith United getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Frankie Simpson hit a great ball. Paddy McOmish made an important save on a dangerous shot by Keith McNuir in the 16th minute. If Lucas McConnach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Helensburgh's Paddy McOmish played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas McConnach in the 27th minute of play. The wind increased when Lucas McConnach made the kick off in the second half. Theo Duffus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Max Beath read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Keith McNuir in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paddy McOmish prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 59 minutes into the game, Ross McIlreach was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Helensburgh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Beith United the free kick. A collision led to Helensburgh getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Ross McIlreach hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Helensburgh's goal looked a bit too open when Keith McNuir came free, but Paddy McOmish reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paddy McOmish came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Beith United's Lucas McConnach. But to his dismay, Lucas McConnach quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Lucas McConnach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddie Pearson charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Freddie Pearson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Helensburgh's Freddie Pearson got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After 73 played minutes, Beith United's Aaron Moray shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paddy McOmish came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Beith United reached it. In the 74th minute, Keith McNuir made a precise shot to the right of Paddy McOmish. Helensburgh's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taylor Basnett in the 89th minute of play forced Beith United's goalkeeper Max Beath to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Lucas McConnach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
