Spectators: 6803 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1803, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gareth McMichael took the kick off in the first half of the match. Anstruther's Gareth McMichael got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gareth McMichael in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fergus Abbot saved Lockerbie United from getting behind. 20 minutes into the match, Anstruther's goal looked a bit too open when Roddie McKeachan came free, but Hamish Barton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roddie McKeachan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Hamish Barton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gareth McMichael in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fergus Abbot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Anstruther booed when Lockerbie United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Purcell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gareth McMichael struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Fergus Abbot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Anstruther. In the 32nd minute, Theo Millar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Anstruther fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a rather tough play, Anstruther's Paul Collins got a free kick in the 35th minute. Anstruther's Hamish Barton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Anstruther from getting a goal against them. Jason McNamell took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hamish Barton. Hamish Barton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 43 minutes of play, Lockerbie United's Jason McNamell made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hamish Barton was left in no man's land by his defense there! Theo Millar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Fergus Abbot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Fergus Abbot stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gareth McMichael's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. In the 57th minute of the match Dougal Lean sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fergus Abbot skillfully saved the ball. Theo Millar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fergus Abbot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Jason McNamell took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hamish Barton. Hamish Barton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Anstruther's Gareth McMichael got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roddie McKeachan charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roddie McKeachan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Theo Millar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fergus Abbot having to interfere. If Gareth McMichael had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fergus Abbot made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rod McVail in the 83rd minute. Hamish Barton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roddie McKeachan's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Jason McNamell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Lockerbie United booed when Anstruther was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick McKim didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Anstruther players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Lockerbie United.
