Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Taylor Basnett took the kick off in the first half of the match. Nathan McBeolain kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Theo Duffus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamish Barton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Anstruther's Rod McVail got a free kick in the 14th minute. After a rather tough play, Helensburgh's Aidan Cooper got a free kick in the 17th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Anstruther's Ciaran Dunbar broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Gareth McMichael struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Paddy McOmish didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Anstruther. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theo Duffus in the 24th minute of play forced Anstruther's goalkeeper Hamish Barton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Helensburgh's Theo Duffus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hamish Barton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Helensburgh's zone, Gareth McMichael stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paddy McOmish came out of the goal and Gareth McMichael tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Helensburgh's Paddy McOmish got control of the ball when Gareth McMichael tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anstruther's Hamish Barton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theo Duffus in the 33rd minute of play. Paddy McOmish was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dougal Lean. If Gareth McMichael had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Ross McIlreach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the match, Helensburgh's goalkeeper Paddy McOmish had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Theo Millar. After some careless play in the Anstruther defense, Theo Duffus kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hamish Barton. The Anstruther fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hamish Barton should have stopped the shot.

Gareth McMichael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paddy McOmish having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Theo Millar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paddy McOmish was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Anstruther's zone, Theo Duffus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hamish Barton came out of the goal and Theo Duffus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 72 minutes into the match, Anstruther's Theo Millar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paddy McOmish narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Helensburgh's zone, Theo Millar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paddy McOmish came out of the goal and Theo Millar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paddy McOmish showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Theo Millar, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Taylor Basnett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Helensburgh players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Anstruther.
