Dundee City's Ryan McGillivray played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronan McAdie in the 6th minute of play. Joe McWalrick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sean McQuey in the 10th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Quentin Robertson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joe McWalrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sean McQuey, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. If Ronan McAdie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Alloway AFC's Ronan McAdie sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ryan McGillivray narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 1-0 became the score in the 21st minute when Roy Aspin elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Dundee City's Ryan McGillivray played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronan McAdie in the 25th minute of play. Rod Sorely hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Donlevy in the 44th minute of play forced Alloway AFC's goalkeeper Joe McWalrick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Danny McCrain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Ryan McGillivray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quentin Robertson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Sean McQuey came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Dundee City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sean McQuey couldn't finish the play. When Ken Geddes fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alloway AFC's protests and gave Ken Geddes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Alloway AFC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ken Geddes hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, Alloway AFC's goalkeeper Joe McWalrick had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcus Donlevy. The crowd rose to their feet as Sean McQuey kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joe McWalrick. That made the score 1-1 in the 62 minute of play. Ronan McAdie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ryan McGillivray having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Dundee City's Sean McQuey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joe McWalrick narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Iain McFie charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iain McFie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th minute, one of Dundee City:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Dundee City. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronan McAdie during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
