After 19 minutes, Benjamin Dis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ayr and the McLaren Academy FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ayr's Euan Ellis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Lawson in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute, Paul Lawson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benjamin Dis got his second yellow card in the match during the 26th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Ayr getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Benjamin Dis hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, McLaren Academy FC's Paul Lawson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Euan Ellis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The wind increased when Josh Dyce made the kick off in the second half. If Paul Lawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Benjamin McRobie kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Munro McCalmont made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Sid Gorrie sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Lawson in the 65th minute of play forced Ayr's goalkeeper Euan Ellis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. George McGruder's late challenge caught a McLaren Academy FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. George McGruder helped the player get up and apologised. In the 66th match minute, Ayr was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George McGruder to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dougal Cox during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ayr fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! In the 70th minute there was a penalty for McLaren Academy FC. Raymond Rome stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Euan Ellis. 1-2. Munro McCalmont made an important save on a dangerous shot by Josh Dyce in the 89th minute. Robert Gordon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. George McGruder kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Robert Gordon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ayr's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
