Troy McRurie hit a great ball. After 21 played minutes Oldcastle Retirement Club got a freekick which was hit by Conor Cooper. After 23 minutes, Rod Clanachan made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Rosamond FC's Blair Buckley tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Oldcastle Retirement Club's Rod Clanachan in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Rosamond FC's goalkeeper Blair Buckley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rosamond FC's Troy McRurie got his second yellow card of the match in the 33rd minute. The referee ordered Troy McRurie off the ground. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Rod Clanachan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oldcastle Retirement Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Rod Clanachan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blair Buckley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Rosamond FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Oldcastle Retirement Club were winning 0-1.

Oldcastle Retirement Club's Darren Davidson managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tam Norie in the 52 minute of the game. Blair Buckley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darren Davidson in the 53rd minute of the match. If Jeremy McInnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 62 minutes into the match, Oldcastle Retirement Club's goal looked a bit too open when Ter Finlayson came free, but Allan McGregor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, Anthony McCruithein was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rosamond FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oldcastle Retirement Club the free kick. Rod Clanachan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Blair Buckley when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rod Clanachan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blair Buckley having to interfere. After having played for 69 minutes, Ter Finlayson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rosamond FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ter Finlayson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 72nd minute, Ron Jeffrey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Blair Buckley was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Allan McGregor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ter Finlayson in the 80th minute of the match. Quentin Pratt hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Blair Buckley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rod Clanachan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute Rod Clanachan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blair Buckley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Rod Clanachan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Rosamond FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Oldcastle Retirement Club were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
