After a defensive mix-up in Brora United's zone, Patrick McRobb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Terence McHarold came out of the goal and Patrick McRobb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the match, Brora United's Paul Donnellson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christopher McClymont narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Christopher McClymont made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Donnellson in the 13th minute of play. Timmy McLachlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Terence McHarold tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Burntisland's goal looked a bit too open when Chris McKellaigh came free, but Christopher McClymont reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Brora United's Danny McCuish got a free kick in the 29th minute. Timmy McLachlan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patrick McRobb's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 32ndth minute, Terence McHarold skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Timmy McLachlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terence McHarold having to interfere. Terence McHarold made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Patrick McRobb sent off a good shot on target. In the 46th minute Aiden Wharrie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christopher McClymont saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Burntisland players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Brora United were winning 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paul Donnellson to make the kick off. Christopher McClymont took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paul Donnellson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Terence McHarold showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick McRobb, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Brora United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
