Spectators: 6788 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1788, VIP seats: 0) Lloyd Harper made the kick off and thus started the match. 9 minutes into the match, Macduff's goal looked a bit too open when Boruc Setara came free, but Donald Lammond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ellon's zone, Brian McFeat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kevin Reidfurd came out of the goal and Brian McFeat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th minute, Gary McGeachin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ellon fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 20th match minute, Ellon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alisdair McLaine to maneuver through the defense. Alisdair McLaine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donald Lammond having to interfere. If Boruc Setara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donald Lammond showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Larry Deuchar, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Donald Lammond didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Larry Deuchar went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Donald Lammond went to the wrong direction when Jimmy McGillegowie was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. A collision led to Macduff getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Martin Kennethson hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, Alisdair McLaine left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ellon fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 46 minutes into the match, Macduff's goal looked a bit too open when Boruc Setara came free, but Donald Lammond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Boruc Setara to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Ellon's Boruc Setara ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Donald Lammond. Donald Lammond yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. When Ellon's Boruc Setara in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Macduff's goalie prevented a goal. Ellon's Kevin Reidfurd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lloyd Harper in the 64th minute of play. When Macduff's Brian McFeat in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ellon's goalie prevented a goal. Boruc Setara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Donald Lammond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gary McGeachin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Macduff's Donald Lammond got control of the ball when Gary McGeachin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gary McGeachin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Donald Lammond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alisdair McLaine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donald Lammond having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Macduff's Brian McFeat got a free kick in the 89th minute. After some careless play in the Macduff defense, Gary McGeachin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donald Lammond. The Macduff fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donald Lammond should have stopped the shot. Lloyd Harper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Reidfurd having to interfere. When the match was over Ellon could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Macduff throughout the match.
