In the 33rd minute, Robert Blain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lochboisdale's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Alisdair McLaine scored to the left of an out of position Raymond Acton, making the score, 3-0. A hard shot 40 in the game by Boruc Setara from a close distance when the talented Raymond Acton managed to make a qualified save. Lochboisdale's players were relieved. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Boruc Setara was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Lochboisdale's goal looked a bit too open when Boruc Setara came free, but Raymond Acton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alisdair McLaine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Raymond Acton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 56 played minutes Lochboisdale got a freekick which was hit by Ian McCartair. 58 minutes into the match, Alisdair McLaine notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Lochboisdale's Raymond Acton. Raymond Acton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Ellon booed when Lochboisdale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronan Barbour didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boruc Setara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raymond Acton having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lochboisdale's Robert Blain got a free kick in the 66th minute. Elliot Wallace was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 69th minute. Lochboisdale's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Greig McRob hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Boruc Setara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raymond Acton having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Gary McGeachin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ellon's Boruc Setara got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gary McGeachin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raymond Acton having to interfere. There was no doubt that Ellon were the better team. Ellon's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
