A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Daniel Denune struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Joe Grieve didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peterhead. If Jacob McKinning had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Colin McPhorich's late challenge caught a Campbeltown's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Colin McPhorich helped the player get up and apologised. In the 36th minute, Colin McPhorich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 37 minutes, Ronnie Ogilvy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Campbeltown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronnie Ogilvy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Murray Mein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Joe Grieve tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 47 in the game by Jacob McKinning from a close distance when the talented David McKenrick managed to make a qualified save. Peterhead's players were relieved. Jacob McKinning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronnie Ogilvy made a kick off. Daniel Denune fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joe Grieve having to interfere. Ronnie Ogilvy might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David McKenrick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronnie Ogilvy ran back to his position shaking his head. If Daniel Denune had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Peterhead booed when Campbeltown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dean Russell didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Peterhead's Daniel Denune, in the 72nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Peterhead. In the 96th minute, Murray Mein ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joe Grieve was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Peterhead had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
