Seating: 1794, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Endre Gelencsér got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Timothy McCorkill had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Norman McKinning. Banff's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Timothy McCorkill was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 6 played minutes, ELGIN's Nicky Dewar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Norman McKinning came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ELGIN reached it. In the 7th minute, Endre Gelencsér got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Banff's Norman McKinning played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reece Neish in the 8th minute of play. Endre Gelencsér succeeded in the game's 17th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Theo Limont successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jeremy McVey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Theo Limont tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 30 played minutes Banff got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Hudson. When Endre Gelencsér came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the ELGIN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Endre Gelencsér couldn't finish the play. In the 38thth minute of the game Endre Gelencsér who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Banff's Norman McKinning was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Banff defense, Endre Gelencsér kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Norman McKinning. The Banff fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norman McKinning should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Banff booed when ELGIN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kjell Vallmark didn't get a good kick on the ball. 49 minutes into the game, Barry Broom cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Theo Limont was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Barry Broom to strike the kick off in the second half. Jeremy McVey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo Limont having to interfere. Endre Gelencsér who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Norman McKinning when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Endre Gelencsér in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Norman McKinning, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Endre Gelencsér in the 62ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. ELGIN's Endre Gelencsér got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Shaun Aspin during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Endre Gelencsér received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Norman McKinning tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77thth minute of the game Nicky Dewar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Banff's Norman McKinning was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 78 played minutes Banff got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Hudson. When Gary Dawson fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Banff's protests and gave Gary Dawson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Banff getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Gary Dawson hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Banff's zone, Endre Gelencsér stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norman McKinning came out of the goal and Endre Gelencsér tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Endre Gelencsér who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Norman McKinning when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremy McVey during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 96th minute, Jeremy McVey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jeremy McVey was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 99 minutes had been played. In the 99th match minute, Banff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremy McVey to maneuver through the defense. ELGIN's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
