Nicky Dewar hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. The long shot by Andy McFeat in the 3rd minute really tested Theo Limont's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Joe Grieve came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by ELGIN's Reece Neish. But to his dismay, Reece Neish quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Theo Limont showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronnie Ogilvy in the 10th minute of the match. If Wayne McRobb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 15 minutes into the match, Campbeltown's goal looked a bit too open when Endre Gelencsér came free, but Joe Grieve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dean Russell's late challenge caught a ELGIN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dean Russell helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd minute, Dean Russell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A wasted opportunity for Campbeltown. Wayne McRobb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Endre Gelencsér put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Joe Grieve. The supporters of ELGIN booed when Campbeltown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dean Russell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joe Grieve showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Endre Gelencsér in the 41st minute of the match. Joe Grieve made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reece Neish in the 44th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Endre Gelencsér in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joe Grieve prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half ELGIN were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronnie Ogilvy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Campbeltown's Joe Grieve got control of the ball when Endre Gelencsér tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Reece Neish put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Joe Grieve. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Endre Gelencsér sped through Campbeltown's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joe Grieve. 66 minutes into the match, ELGIN's Reece Neish sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joe Grieve narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Endre Gelencsér blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joe Grieve having to make a save. Nicky Dewar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Campbeltown's Ronnie Ogilvy got a free kick in the 73rd minute. With a little luck, Campbeltown's Joe Grieve got control of the ball when Endre Gelencsér tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 78 played minutes Campbeltown got a freekick which was hit by Dean Russell. Joe Grieve was out of position in the 80 minute of play, and Endre Gelencsér capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Endre Gelencsér really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Endre Gelencsér sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the ELGIN defense, Jacob McKinning kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Theo Limont. The ELGIN fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Theo Limont should have stopped the shot. Jacob McKinning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Endre Gelencsér made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 97thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Joe Grieve would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. ELGIN played a much better game than Campbeltown and deserved their victory. The Campbeltown players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
