After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Norman Davies managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stornoway FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Norman Davies was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christopher Corstorphine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Christopher Corstorphine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norman Davies in the 10th minute of play. Christopher Corstorphine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norman Davies, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the match, Rick Frissell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christopher Corstorphine. Taynuilt's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rick Frissell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Jack McShimes came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Taynuilt's Jacob Reidfurd. But to his dismay, Jacob Reidfurd quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Christopher Corstorphine came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Stornoway FC's John Hughson. But to his dismay, John Hughson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Jacob Reidfurd hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

Jacob Reidfurd's late challenge caught a Stornoway FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacob Reidfurd helped the player get up and apologised. Jacob Reidfurd hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Norman Davies fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christopher Corstorphine having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 67th minute by John Hughson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Norman Davies managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stornoway FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Norman Davies was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stornoway FC's Jack McShimes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raymond Lamb in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute, Richard McNeish hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jacob Reidfurd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raymond Lamb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Jack McShimes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Stornoway FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Ben Burnes hit a great ball. If John Hughson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Stornoway FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
