Raymond Lamb blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alistair Mennie having to make a save. Patrick McCansh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Alistair Mennie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raymond Lamb's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alistair Mennie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Taynuilt's Christopher Corstorphine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ray McKelloch in the 25th minute of play. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the match, Patrick McCansh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alistair Mennie. Edinburgh Steelers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patrick McCansh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1.

The wind increased when Patrick McCansh made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Bruce Mitchell managed to get in a good position for a shot. When the match was over Taynuilt could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Edinburgh Steelers FC throughout the match.
