The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wal McCamie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Les McBurie having to interfere. Wal McCamie might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Les McBurie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wal McCamie ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wal McCamie in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Les McBurie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jake Blake took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joshua Carruthers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roy Lombard in the 13th minute of play forced Bristol Brigde House's goalkeeper Les McBurie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wal McCamie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Les McBurie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute of the match Westhill got a corner. Bristol Brigde House's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gary Barbour ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gary Barbour made a great header on Westhill's corner, it was just that Bristol Brigde House's Les McBurie managed to reach the ball for a save. After having played for 24 minutes, Kevin Shannon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bristol Brigde House's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kevin Shannon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The attack was good, but when Joshua Carruthers in the 24th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After a rather tough play, Westhill's Shaun McCalman got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute Joshua Carruthers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake Blake saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Westhill's Jake Blake played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Shannon in the 29th minute of play. Wal McCamie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wal McCamie in the 40th minute of play forced Bristol Brigde House's goalkeeper Les McBurie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute of the match, Wal McCamie tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Les McBurie saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kevin Shannon was the one to do the kick off. When Westhill's Wal McCamie in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bristol Brigde House's goalie prevented a goal. Kevin Shannon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 64 played minutes Bristol Brigde House got a freekick which was hit by Stevie McDavid. In the 65th minute Wal McCamie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Les McBurie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bristol Brigde House's Les McBurie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wal McCamie in the 72nd minute of play. If Joshua Carruthers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Joshua Carruthers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bristol Brigde House's supporters rose to their feet, but Joshua Carruthers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jake Blake breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Westhill fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! The audience was convinced that Roy Lombard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Les McBurie was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. 92 minutes into the game, Wal McCamie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Les McBurie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 96 minutes, Roy Lombard made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Bristol Brigde House's Les McBurie tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Bristol Brigde House players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Westhill.
