Brian Webster struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Stephen McCormick didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shanklin FC. With a little luck, Ballachulish's Stephen McCormick got control of the ball when Dougal Toward tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dougal Toward's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Stephen McCormick skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Mark Eadie's late challenge caught a Shanklin FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mark Eadie helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ballachulish getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Mark Eadie hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Shanklin FC's Jeremy Bean got a free kick in the 37th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Ballachulish's Jeremy Leitch sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tony Nelson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Jeremy Leitch's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tony Nelson firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Ballachulish's zone, Dougal Toward stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stephen McCormick came out of the goal and Dougal Toward tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dougal Toward struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Stephen McCormick didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shanklin FC. Jordan McKellachie hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. If Dougal Toward had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Shanklin FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Jeremy Bean hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, Shanklin FC's goal looked a bit too open when Irvin McGhie came free, but Tony Nelson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brian Webster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephen McCormick having to interfere. Stephen McCormick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dougal Toward in the 84th minute of play. When Shanklin FC's Brian Webster in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ballachulish's goalie prevented a goal. If Brian Webster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Logan Cooke kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The Shanklin FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ballachulish's performance. The match ended with a win for Ballachulish.
