Dougal Toward fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinny McCook having to interfere. With a little luck, Shanklin FC's Tony Nelson got control of the ball when Tyler McAchounich tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tony Nelson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John McMurray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Steve Tawesson during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th minute, Steve Tawesson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tyler McAchounich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Nelson having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brian Webster in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vinny McCook saved Cairndow AFC from getting behind. After 39 played minutes Shanklin FC got a freekick which was hit by Timmy McMinn. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, John McMurray took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Tony Nelson to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Shanklin FC's Tony Nelson got control of the ball when Thomas McQuaire tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and John McMurray made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Timmy McMinn notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Cairndow AFC's Vinny McCook. Vinny McCook was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Brian Webster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 64 minutes, Tyler McAchounich managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cairndow AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tyler McAchounich was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th minute, Jeremy Bean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tyler McAchounich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Tony Nelson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shanklin FC's Dougal Toward got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, Cairndow AFC's goalkeeper Vinny McCook had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dougal Toward. Cairndow AFC's Vinny McCook played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brian Webster in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th of the match, Brian Webster tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Vinny McCook got in the way and made a wonderful save. Tyler McAchounich recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Shanklin FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Richard Duffus hit a great ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Brian Webster managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shanklin FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brian Webster was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Cairndow AFC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. John McMurray hit a great ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
