With a little luck, Westhill's Jake Blake got control of the ball when Tyler McAchounich tried to sneak it across the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Cairndow AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Wal McCamie came free, but Vinny McCook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Tyler McAchounich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for John McMurray to strike the kick off in the second half. Jake Blake didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tyler McAchounich went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. 62 minutes into the match, Cairndow AFC's Tyler McAchounich sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jake Blake narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cairndow AFC's Vinny McCook proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Cairndow AFC from getting a goal against them. When John McMurray came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Cairndow AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that John McMurray couldn't finish the play. Roy Lombard scored 1-3 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vinny McCook, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tyler McAchounich took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jake Blake. Jake Blake dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. In the 94th minute John McMurray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake Blake saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
