Spectators: 6780 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1780, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Barry Stenhouse kicked off to start the match. George Pitullich charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed George Pitullich the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Duncan Hawson, 6 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The supporters of Stonehaven booed when Freshwater was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lee McKinney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stonehaven's Duncan Hawson couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 8th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Freshwater. After 9 played minutes Freshwater got a freekick which was hit by Joseph Spittel. Gareth Archibald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Freshwater's Les McLymont got control of the ball when Phil Gallie tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Stonehaven's Barry Stenhouse in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Freshwater's goalie prevented a goal. Phil Gallie's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Les McLymont firmly grabbed it by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Barry Stenhouse in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Les McLymont prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Barry Stenhouse in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Les McLymont, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 25 minutes into the match, Freshwater's Alisdair McFeat sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that George McTear narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gareth Archibald blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without George McTear having to make a save. Stonehaven's George McTear played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gareth Archibald in the 30th minute of play. George McTear came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Freshwater's Alisdair McFeat. But to his dismay, Alisdair McFeat quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 37th minute Barry Stenhouse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Les McLymont saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stonehaven's Duncan Hawson couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 44th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Freshwater. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Alisdair McFeat made the kick off in the second half. Gareth Archibald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George McTear having to interfere. When George Pitullich was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. After 56 played minutes Freshwater got a freekick which was hit by George Pitullich. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phil Gallie in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Les McLymont saved Freshwater from getting behind. After having played for 61 minutes, Gareth Archibald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Freshwater's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gareth Archibald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alisdair McFeat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George McTear having to interfere. Barry Stenhouse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Les McLymont tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alisdair McFeat hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. With 84 minutes on the clock, Jake McNish commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Freshwater fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 83rd minute. Penalty! In the 90th match minute, Freshwater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joseph Spittel to maneuver through the defense. After 91 played minutes, Stonehaven's Duncan Hawson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Les McLymont came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stonehaven reached it. Stonehaven's Barry Stenhouse got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Les McLymont showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barry Stenhouse in the 94th minute of the match.
