Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Barry Stenhouse kicked off to start the match. Walter McCrain struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. George McTear didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lochearnhead United. After 18 played minutes Stonehaven got a freekick which was hit by Brian Home. George McTear showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Stringer, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 27 minutes into the match, Walter McCrain notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Stonehaven's George McTear. George McTear was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Phil Gallie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Ewan Donlevy made a huge save. 31 minutes into the match, Stonehaven's goal looked a bit too open when Walter McCrain came free, but George McTear reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Stonehaven! 42 minutes into the match, Lochearnhead United's goalkeeper Ewan Donlevy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Phil Gallie. George McTear showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walter McCrain, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walter McCrain made a kick off. When Lochearnhead United's Walter McCrain in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 66th match minute, Lochearnhead United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Todd to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute Barry Stenhouse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ewan Donlevy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ewan Donlevy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Barry Stenhouse's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. After a rather tough play, Lochearnhead United's Bruce Ross got a free kick in the 79th minute. If Barry Stenhouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, William Stringer notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Stonehaven's George McTear. George McTear was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Lochearnhead United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
