The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Barry Archibald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Timmy McMaster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barry Archibald, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After having played for 15 minutes, Greig Carter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Harris United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Greig Carter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Graeme Meine blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matt McDavid having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Barry Archibald's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Timmy McMaster was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Phillip Will fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timmy McMaster having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Barry Archibald managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kyle's supporters rose to their feet, but Barry Archibald was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timmy McMaster breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alex Boon kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. The supporters of Harris United booed when Kyle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Dougan didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Timmy McMaster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phillip Will in the 53rd minute of the match. Kyle's Barry Archibald got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ryan Crozier kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Timmy McMaster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phillip Will, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
