Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Barry Archibald started the match with the kick off. Derek McCruithein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matt McDavid having to interfere. After 4 played minutes Heriot got a freekick which was hit by Brandon Carrigan. With his leg Elliot McMurdoch managed to avoid a goal in the 5thth minute, when Kyle's Phillip Will fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 6th match minute, Heriot was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ray McIldowie to maneuver through the defense. After 10 played minutes Heriot got a freekick which was hit by Ray McIldowie. Matt McDavid stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Derek McCruithein's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. The supporters of Kyle booed when Heriot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taylor Clark didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Barry Archibald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kyle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barry Archibald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Phillip Will fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elliot McMurdoch having to interfere. If Derek McCruithein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Heriot's goal looked a bit too open when Barry Archibald came free, but Elliot McMurdoch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edward Dougan charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edward Dougan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Kyle's Edward Dougan got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 37th minute Derek McCruithein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matt McDavid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Drew McLagan scored 0-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Matt McDavid, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Kyle players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Heriot were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Derek McCruithein to strike the kick off in the second half. When Kyle's Barry Archibald in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Heriot's goalie prevented a goal. After 58 played minutes Kyle got a freekick which was hit by Jimmy Abbot. Matt McDavid made an important save on a dangerous shot by Drew McLagan in the 61st minute. A collision led to Kyle getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Mike Coulson hit a great ball. Matt McDavid made an important save on a dangerous shot by Drew McLagan in the 70th minute. The Kyle fans' excitement grew in the 72nd match minute when Kyle's Barry Archibald looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Drew McLagan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Derek McCruithein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Drew McLagan got free with Matt McDavid in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. For all the effort they put into the match, the Heriot players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Kyle.
