Seating: 1779, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Terry McPatrick got the match started through his kick off. Gregor Lowson hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Gareth McQuartie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Terry McPatrick in the 4th minute of play. Reece McHendrie's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Angus Carrigan firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Marcus Lenny came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Beauly fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Lenny couldn't finish the play. Stevie Fergus's late challenge caught a Beauly's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stevie Fergus helped the player get up and apologised. In the 10th minute, Stevie Fergus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terry McPatrick in the 13th minute of play forced Humbie's goalkeeper Gareth McQuartie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Humbie's goal looked a bit too open when Terry McPatrick came free, but Gareth McQuartie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gareth McQuartie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Terry McPatrick, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 26 played minutes, Humbie's Gregor Lowson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Angus Carrigan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Humbie reached it. Marcus Lenny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gareth McQuartie having to interfere. Larry Banks was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 35 minutes into the match. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Beauly! Colin Barbour charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Colin Barbour the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Colin Barbour hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Phil Skinner managed to get in a good position for a shot. Humbie's supporters rose to their feet, but Phil Skinner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angus Carrigan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Phil Skinner was the one to do the kick off. Beauly's Angus Carrigan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phil Skinner in the 51st minute of play. A collision led to Beauly getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Danny Appleton hit a great ball. Gregor Lowson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Angus Carrigan. Beauly's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Reece McHendrie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angus Carrigan having to interfere. Reece McHendrie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reece McHendrie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phil Skinner in the 88th minute of play forced Beauly's goalkeeper Angus Carrigan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Marcus Lenny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phil Skinner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angus Carrigan having to interfere. Humbie were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Beauly for a fine match.
