With a left leg Mike McGaw saved Emily Soccer FC from getting behind. 20 minutes into the match, Emily Soccer FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Young came free, but Mike McGaw reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 played minutes Emily Soccer FC got a freekick which was hit by Nathan Cavanagh. Ryan McLeister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harry Wharrie having to interfere. After 30 played minutes Halkirk AFC got a freekick which was hit by Stevie Beresford. If Ryan McLeister had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Euan Porter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tyler Lemond sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Duncan Richardson was the one to do the kick off. Halkirk AFC may have spent more time on the ball, but Emily Soccer FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
