Celtic City Park

Seating: 1800, VIP seats: 156) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gordon Robertson took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute, Marc Gilbride hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Marc Gilbride fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Celtic City's protests and gave Marc Gilbride a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Clackmannan FC booed when Celtic City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marc Gilbride didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Broom stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gordon Robertson's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. If Gregor Collins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clackmannan FC's Harry McRach got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Celtic City's Daniel Broom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gordon Robertson in the 22nd minute of play. Marc Gilbride hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute of the match Aiden McAuselan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Daniel Broom skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Celtic City's Aiden Fairbairn got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute, Gregor Collins made a precise shot to the right of Bruce Fullarton. Clackmannan FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gordon Robertson in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daniel Broom saved Celtic City from getting behind. Clackmannan FC's Taylor Watson pulled a muscle in his back after 37 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The supporters of Clackmannan FC booed when Celtic City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iain Webster didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Celtic City's goalkeeper Daniel Broom, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Gordon Robertson came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Clackmannan FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gordon Robertson couldn't finish the play. Harry McRach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruce Fullarton came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Celtic City's Rick McHendry. But to his dismay, Rick McHendry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gregor Collins made a kick off. After having played for 58 minutes, Ray McIlvride managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clackmannan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ray McIlvride was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Clackmannan FC's Bruce Fullarton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rick McHendry in the 62nd minute of play. In the 71st minute, Aidan Comrie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Harry McRach came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Clackmannan FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harry McRach couldn't finish the play. 77 minutes into the match, Celtic City's Gregor Collins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bruce Fullarton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Celtic City's zone, Harry McRach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Broom came out of the goal and Harry McRach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gordon Robertson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, Celtic City could leave the field as winners, despite Clackmannan FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
