In the 34thth minute of the game Ron Ure who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Manchester City's Murray McUre was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 39th match minute, Manchester City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neil Wharrie to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the match, Manchester City's goal looked a bit too open when Ron Ure came free, but Murray McUre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The long shot by Ivan McCluskie in the 45th minute really tested Ronald Forsyth's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After 47 minutes, Ter Foster mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Golspie and the Manchester City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th minute, Ter Foster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The wind increased when Iain Cargill made the kick off in the second half. Joshua McGilp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronald Forsyth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joshua McGilp in the 56th minute of the match. When Edmond Shannon fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joshua McGilp in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronald Forsyth prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 72nd minute, Alex Dinwoodie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joshua McGilp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 77th minute, Ter Foster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joshua McGilp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ronald Forsyth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Logan Higginson suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ryan Carrick during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 83rd match minute, Golspie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryan Carrick to maneuver through the defense. After 86 played minutes Golspie got a freekick which was hit by Rob Grewar. 89 minutes into the match, Golspie's goal looked a bit too open when Joshua McGilp came free, but Ronald Forsyth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex Dinwoodie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murray McUre having to interfere. Joshua McGilp struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Ronald Forsyth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester City. Manchester City were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Golspie for a fine match.
