Callander Stadium
Spectators: 6788 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1788, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tim Lawrence kicked off to start the match. Rob Bell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Ricky Swanson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tim Lawrence recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Linlithgow AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rob Bell came free, but Ricky Swanson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Matt Baxter came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Callander fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matt Baxter couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Linlithgow AFC's Ricky Cleland got a free kick in the 21st minute. If Rob Bell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the game, Matt Baxter lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Ricky Swanson. Connor Munro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Innes Swanson in the 37th minute of play. Connor Munro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Innes Swanson in the 41st minute of the match. Tim Lawrence struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Connor Munro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Linlithgow AFC. Drew Boyd kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Matt Baxter in the 58th minute of play forced Linlithgow AFC's goalkeeper Ricky Swanson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matt Baxter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ricky Swanson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricky Swanson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rob Bell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rob Bell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matt Baxter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricky Swanson having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Rob Bell in the 81st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The audience was convinced that Rob Bell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricky Swanson was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Callander's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
