In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Galashiels FC's goalkeeper Elliot Forrister, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stuart McNiven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andy Baxter in the 13th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the game, Wal Martin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galashiels FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lochailort FC the free kick. In the 28th minute, Wal Martin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Galashiels FC's Conor McCraw got a free kick in the 30th minute. If Greig McGilbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stevie Connall struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Stuart McNiven didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galashiels FC. In the 41st minute, Andy Baxter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elliot Forrister showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Greig McGilbert in the 42nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Walter Armour in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elliot Forrister saved Galashiels FC from getting behind. The Galashiels FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Lochailort FC were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walter Armour to make the kick off. Stuart McNiven showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stevie Connall, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rick Frew during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 54 played minutes Lochailort FC got a freekick which was hit by Rick Frew. The supporters of Galashiels FC booed when Lochailort FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ter McTaggart didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Galashiels FC's goalkeeper Elliot Forrister, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, Galashiels FC's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Armour came free, but Elliot Forrister reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Lochailort FC's zone, Andy Baxter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stuart McNiven came out of the goal and Andy Baxter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Stevie Connall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 69 minutes, Elliot McLeay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lochailort FC and the Galashiels FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 69th minute of the game. One of Lochailort FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Galashiels FC:s goal. Conor McCraw's late challenge caught a Lochailort FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Conor McCraw helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lochailort FC booed when Galashiels FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walter Armour had several of the Galashiels FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 98 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Elliot Forrister as he didn't even see the shot coming.
