The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Doune City booed when Arrochar AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamie Griesck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donald Cooke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Freddie Forester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nigel Reidfurd in the 10th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Jamie Griesck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute, Ronan Paterson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eddie Collier was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 12th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Doune City's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan McIssac came free, but Steve McBheath reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Doune City's Miles Robson got a free kick in the 19th minute. Freddie Forester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Malcolm Hallyard in the 21st minute of the match. A collision led to Arrochar AFC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Greig Fisher hit a great ball. Jamie Griesck's late challenge caught a Doune City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jamie Griesck helped the player get up and apologised. Ivan McIssac recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Malcolm Hallyard in the 32nd minute of play forced Arrochar AFC's goalkeeper Freddie Forester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Malcolm Hallyard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Donald Cooke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddie Forester having to interfere. Arrochar AFC's Freddie Forester played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donald Cooke in the 44th minute of play. In the 48th match minute, Arrochar AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jamie Griesck to maneuver through the defense. 49 minutes into the game, Malcolm Hallyard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Freddie Forester was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

Steve McBheath made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan McIssac in the 65th minute of play. Ivan McIssac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Ivan McIssac managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arrochar AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan McIssac was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steve McBheath breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 71st minute, Christopher Coull got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Christopher Coull came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Arrochar AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christopher Coull couldn't finish the play. Ivan McIssac fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve McBheath having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Ivan McIssac managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arrochar AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan McIssac was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steve McBheath tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
