In the 16th minute, Lewis McCreath got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hamilton's Jordan Cookson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Greenlaw in the 22nd minute of play. The supporters of Hamilton booed when Portree FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mike Burnett didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dominic Adkins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lewis McCreath, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. With a little luck, Hamilton's Jordan Cookson got control of the ball when Irvin Lawrie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lewis McCreath struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Jordan Cookson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Irvin Lawrie came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Portree FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Irvin Lawrie couldn't finish the play. In the 94thth minute of the game Oliver Greenlaw who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hamilton's Jordan Cookson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Irvin Lawrie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jordan Cookson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Greenlaw, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
