Spectators: 6787 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1787, VIP seats: 0) Inverkeithing's Jimmy Niven started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 10 minutes into the match, Hamilton's goalkeeper Jordan Cookson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ken McLaghlan. Hamilton's Jordan Cookson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimmy Niven in the 14th minute of play. Ken McLaghlan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Jordan Cookson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Robbie McTary blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fraser Hutchinson having to make a save. Lewis McCreath recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lewis McCreath's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fraser Hutchinson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. 1-1 became the score in the 26th minute when Robbie McTary elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Matt Kennedy charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matt Kennedy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lewis McCreath's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fraser Hutchinson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Fraser Hutchinson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robbie McTary, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Lewis McCreath sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lewis McCreath made a kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Inverkeithing's goalkeeper Fraser Hutchinson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Robbie McTary struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Fraser Hutchinson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hamilton. Robbie McTary could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Fraser Hutchinson made a huge save. In the 60th minute, Hamilton's Robbie McTary dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. 70 minutes into the match, Inverkeithing's Jimmy Niven sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jordan Cookson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Hamilton booed when Inverkeithing was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rick McCombich didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute Jimmy Niven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jordan Cookson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Ken McLaghlan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inverkeithing's supporters rose to their feet, but Ken McLaghlan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jordan Cookson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ken McLaghlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Jordan Cookson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Hamilton defense, Jimmy Niven kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jordan Cookson. The Hamilton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jordan Cookson should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Lewis McCreath kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fraser Hutchinson. That made the score 2-3 in the 91 minute of play. Inverkeithing's Jimmy Niven got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
