Spectators: 6788 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1788, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nigel Abbott kicked off to start the match. Alexandria FC's Ter Gow proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Alexandria FC from getting a goal against them. After 4 played minutes Alexandria FC got a freekick which was hit by Lloyd McRuer. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tommy Webster in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ter Gow saved Alexandria FC from getting behind. Stornoway United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sid Paul in the 7th minute. The corner led Stornoway United's Matt Rusk to fire away a dangerous shot which Ter Gow despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Alexandria FC's Davie Doig got a free kick in the 8th minute. If Phil McAskill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phil McAskill in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ter Gow, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Webster in the 13th minute of play forced Alexandria FC's goalkeeper Ter Gow to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phil McAskill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ter Gow having to interfere. Nigel Abbott fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm Duthie having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nigel Abbott in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Malcolm Duthie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joseph McGillivantic kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Lee McAngus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute of the match Guy McPatrick shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Malcolm Duthie showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 33rd match minute, Alexandria FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lloyd McRuer to maneuver through the defense. Alexandria FC's Ter Gow proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Alexandria FC from getting a goal against them. When Lloyd McRuer fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alexandria FC's protests and gave Lloyd McRuer a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes Alexandria FC got a freekick which was hit by Lloyd McRuer. Phil McAskill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ter Gow read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play.

Phil McAskill blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ter Gow having to make a save. Ter Gow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Webster, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tommy Webster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With splendid footwork Nigel Abbott arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-1 by the left pole in the game's 71st minute. 74 minutes into the match, Stornoway United's goal looked a bit too open when Nigel Abbott came free, but Malcolm Duthie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute, Alexandria FC's Nigel Abbott ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Malcolm Duthie. Malcolm Duthie yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Simon Carmichael could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Malcolm Duthie made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phil McAskill in the 88th minute of play forced Alexandria FC's goalkeeper Ter Gow to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Davie Doig hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Simon Carmichael received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Malcolm Duthie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandria FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
