When Joseph Laidlaw fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dont Blame The Name's protests and gave Joseph Laidlaw a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Phil McAskill ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Murray Elliot was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Stornoway United's zone, Joshua Reilly stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Malcolm Duthie came out of the goal and Joshua Reilly tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tommy Webster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murray Elliot having to interfere. Joshua Reilly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Davie Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 32 played minutes Dont Blame The Name got a freekick which was hit by Craig Cumin. After 34 played minutes Davie Jones could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-1 into the left cross. If Davie Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Davie Jones might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Malcolm Duthie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Davie Jones ran back to his position shaking his head. Dont Blame The Name's Davie Jones got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Matt Rusk hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Davie Jones to make the kick off. Dont Blame The Name's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Raymond Corbet in the 53rd minute. Raymond Corbet made a great header on Dont Blame The Name's corner, it was just that Stornoway United's Malcolm Duthie managed to reach the ball for a save. If Joshua Reilly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Logan Gillespie hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, Dont Blame The Name's goalkeeper Murray Elliot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Phil McAskill. Phil McAskill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. In the 77th minute Joshua Reilly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Duthie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phil McAskill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murray Elliot having to interfere. After 92 played minutes Stornoway United got a freekick which was hit by Sid Paul. In the 95th minute Dont Blame The Name were awarded a corner. Raymond Corbet went to the cornerflag to take it. Nicol McFall kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Nicol McFall was in a good position and ended up with the ball after Dont Blame The Name's free kick, but he didn't get a good hit on the ball and blazed it high and to the right of the goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
