Spectators: 7764 (Terracing: 5824, Seating: 1786, VIP seats: 154) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Vinny McKirdy got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Greig McGruther in the 2nd minute of play forced Goal Keepers Academy's goalkeeper Josh McSween to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Acharacle FC's Jay Spence got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute there was a penalty for Acharacle FC. Ricky Moray stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Josh McSween. 0-1. If Greig McGruther had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Stuart McLugash's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Josh McSween was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Arthur Byers made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Steven McMurray sent off a good shot on target. Greig McGruther recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 30 minutes, Greig McGruther managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acharacle FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Greig McGruther was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thomas McKimmie hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. If Steven McMurray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Acharacle FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Jay Spence hit a great ball. Stuart McLugash hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Greig McGruther recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Stuart McLugash had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Acharacle FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stuart McLugash was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Goal Keepers Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lewis McLeish to maneuver through the defense. In the 59thth minute of the game Stuart McLugash who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Goal Keepers Academy's Josh McSween was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Steven McMurray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Byers having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Jake McMonies managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goal Keepers Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but Jake McMonies was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arthur Byers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Greig McGruther managed to get in a good position for a shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stuart McLugash couldn't finish the play. After 76 minutes, Jake McMonies mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Goal Keepers Academy and the Acharacle FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 76 played minutes Goal Keepers Academy got a freekick which was hit by Jake McMonies. Arthur Byers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steven McMurray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Steven McMurray came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Goal Keepers Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steven McMurray couldn't finish the play. Steven McMurray sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute, Steven McMurray left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goal Keepers Academy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The Acharacle FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Acharacle FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
