Spectators: 6776 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1776, VIP seats: 0) Banff's Danny Johnston started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Rick Appleton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal Sporting Blue's supporters rose to their feet, but Rick Appleton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Liam Laidlaw breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Liam Laidlaw showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rick Appleton in the 6th minute of the match. Rod Williamson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Fowler having to interfere. Freddie McSwen charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Freddie McSwen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Portugal Sporting Blue getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Freddie McSwen hit a great ball. 12 minutes into the match, Banff's Hamish McKerracher broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Rod Williamson got free in front of the goal in the 14th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Tom Fowler was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Aiden Campbell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tom Fowler came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Banff's Rod Williamson. But to his dismay, Rod Williamson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Banff's Liam Laidlaw played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miles Sinclair in the 22nd minute of play. Rick Appleton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liam Laidlaw having to interfere. Rod Williamson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Tom Fowler made a huge save. Tom Fowler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rod Williamson in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Portugal Sporting Blue's goalkeeper Tom Fowler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rod Williamson. If Rod Williamson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Portugal Sporting Blue's Alisdair McIlvain got a free kick in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

55 minutes into the game, one of Portugal Sporting Blue:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Banff a penalty, 56 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hamish McKerracher, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Portugal Sporting Blue's Tom Fowler. 2-0. Rod Williamson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Tom Fowler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miles Sinclair could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Liam Laidlaw made a huge save. After 76 minutes, Aiden Campbell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portugal Sporting Blue and the Banff players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Portugal Sporting Blue's Aiden Campbell got a free kick in the 77th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Banff's zone, Rick Appleton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Liam Laidlaw came out of the goal and Rick Appleton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miles Sinclair received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Alisdair McIlvain charged in rather forcefully in the 102nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alisdair McIlvain the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Banff booed when Portugal Sporting Blue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 102 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alisdair McIlvain didn't get a good kick on the ball. Banff's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
