Cupar City's Kieran Forester played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duncan Duff in the 11th minute of play. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kirkcudbright AFC. When the match had been going on for 49 minutes, Cupar City's Theo Dunbar got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Josh McGilbert. The Cupar City players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Kirkcudbright AFC were winning 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vincent Fair stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Kirkcudbright AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Keith McGilroy came free, but Josh McGilbert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josh McGilbert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cupar City. In the 84th match minute, Cupar City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry McIan to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute, Keith McGilroy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 88 in the game by Hugh McAldonich from a close distance when the talented Kieran Forester managed to make a qualified save. Cupar City's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keith McGilroy in the 90th minute of play forced Kirkcudbright AFC's goalkeeper Josh McGilbert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Kirkcudbright AFC's goalkeeper Josh McGilbert, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Kirkcudbright AFC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Nicholas McGillegowie hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Hugh McAldonich managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kirkcudbright AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugh McAldonich was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kieran Forester breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 97 minutes, Hugh McAldonich managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kirkcudbright AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugh McAldonich was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kieran Forester made a fantastic save in the 100th minute, when Hugh McAldonich sent off a good shot on target. Kirkcudbright AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
