Adam Burdon hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 13 minutes into the match, Biggar City's goal looked a bit too open when Arthur Baxter came free, but Christopher McLennan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Laurencekirk AFC's zone, Robbie McMillan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jamie Gaunson came out of the goal and Robbie McMillan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Biggar City's Adam Burdon got a free kick in the 21st minute. With a little luck, Laurencekirk AFC's Jamie Gaunson got control of the ball when Robbie McMillan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Evan Lamb charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evan Lamb the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Biggar City's Evan Lamb got a free kick in the 24th minute. Laurencekirk AFC's Jamie Gaunson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taylor Spittal in the 40th minute of play. Taylor Spittal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Jamie Gaunson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Owen McCosram to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Biggar City's Robbie McMillan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jamie Gaunson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 56 minutes into the match, Laurencekirk AFC's Owen McCosram sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christopher McLennan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Richard Devlin hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Owen McCosram recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Biggar City's Robbie McMillan got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Taylor Spittal sped through Laurencekirk AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jamie Gaunson. Arthur Baxter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Owen McCosram had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evan Lamb kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Arthur Baxter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christopher McLennan having to interfere.
