Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Gus McKelvie successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. English Irish Scots FC were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Loanhead AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Anthony McCrindle took the corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ryan Bonar got free with Gus McKelvie in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Malcolm McKinley in the 28th minute of play forced English Irish Scots FC's goalkeeper Nicholas Stringer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Loanhead AFC's goalkeeper Gus McKelvie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ryan Bonar. 36 minutes into the match, English Irish Scots FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kenneth Jameson came free, but Nicholas Stringer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wayne Toward recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wayne Toward fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gus McKelvie having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wayne Toward in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gus McKelvie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The long shot by Ryan Bonar in the 43rd minute really tested Gus McKelvie's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kenneth Jameson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Dominic McOwl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in English Irish Scots FC's zone, Kenneth Jameson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicholas Stringer came out of the goal and Kenneth Jameson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wayne Toward sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Loanhead AFC's Gus McKelvie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominic McOwl in the 71st minute of play. Ryan Bonar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute Wayne Toward shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gus McKelvie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gus McKelvie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ryan Bonar, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Nicholas Stringer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenneth Jameson, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Loanhead AFC. In the 92nd minute there was a penalty for English Irish Scots FC. Anthony McCrindle stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gus McKelvie. 2-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Loanhead AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for English Irish Scots FC.
