Spectators: 6786 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1786, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jimmy Gillon made the kick off which started today's match. Wayne Adamson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Harold Fyfe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Wayne Adamson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harold Fyfe having to interfere. Harold Fyfe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wayne Adamson in the 14th minute of play. Harold Fyfe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wayne Adamson, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a rather tough play, Celtic Rangers's Jimmy Gillon got a free kick in the 19th minute. After having played for 20 minutes, Wayne Adamson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skelmorlie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wayne Adamson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ronald McGrowther fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Celtic Rangers's protests and gave Ronald McGrowther a yellow card for diving instead. Andrew Purcell, 26 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Wayne Adamson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steven McNee's late challenge caught a Skelmorlie's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Steven McNee helped the player get up and apologised. After 42 minutes of play Celtic Rangers's Steven McNee was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Steven McNee kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Harold Fyfe had great luck who in the 48thth minute grab hold of the ball when Wayne Adamson from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wayne Adamson was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Marc Baird managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skelmorlie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marc Baird was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicholas McMurdoch kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Harold Fyfe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reece McIldowie in the 56th minute of the match. Jimmy Gillon hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Reece McIldowie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reece McIldowie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Harold Fyfe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wayne Adamson in the 73rd minute of play forced Celtic Rangers's goalkeeper Harold Fyfe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jimmy Gillon during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Skelmorlie booed when Celtic Rangers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimmy Gillon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicholas McMurdoch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry McAngus having to interfere. In the 87th minute of the match Rory Cariston sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Harold Fyfe skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Celtic Rangers getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Jimmy Gillon hit a great ball. In the 91st minute of the match Skelmorlie got a corner. Celtic Rangers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Andrew Purcell ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Murray McGrath got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Harold Fyfe quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Reece McIldowie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Skelmorlie were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Celtic Rangers for a fine match.
