Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. If Robbie Carstarphen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Skelmorlie getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Andrew Purcell hit a great ball. Terry McAngus didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 27th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Anthony McFarlane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wayne Adamson, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute Wayne Adamson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anthony McFarlane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Terry McAngus was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Robbie Carstarphen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Robbie Carstarphen really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Joseph McKellachie hit a great ball. 58 minutes into the match, Skelmorlie's goal looked a bit too open when Robbie Carstarphen came free, but Terry McAngus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Norman Roy kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Terry McAngus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robbie Carstarphen, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. With a little luck, Alva's Anthony McFarlane got control of the ball when Reece McIldowie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reece McIldowie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alva's Jay McLachlan managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Andrew Purcell in the 96 minute of the game.
