With a little luck, Glencoe City's Stuart McFarlane got control of the ball when Munro O'Shaig tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th minute, Glencoe City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Darren McAlister fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Darren McAlister recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Munro O'Shaig put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Stuart McFarlane.

Ronnie Hewitson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 59th minute. Glencoe City's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Munro O'Shaig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stuart McFarlane having to interfere. Bathgate's Martin Robinson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronnie Hewitson in the 66th minute of play. Martin Robinson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fergus McMinn in the 86th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Bathgate's goal looked a bit too open when Ronnie Hewitson came free, but Martin Robinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Munro O'Shaig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stuart McFarlane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darren McAlister, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When Bathgate's Munro O'Shaig in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
