The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Narrow Lake City FC's zone, Ronnie Hewitson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guy Christie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Benjamin McNeilly let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 20th minute shot 1-1 at rihgt post. After having played for 24 minutes, Fergus McMinn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glencoe City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fergus McMinn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stuart McFarlane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmond Low in the 27th minute of play. Fergus McMinn struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Guy Christie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glencoe City. In the 31st match minute, Glencoe City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronnie Hewitson to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronnie Hewitson in the 39th minute of play forced Narrow Lake City FC's goalkeeper Guy Christie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronnie Hewitson made a kick off. Guy Christie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronnie Hewitson in the 51st minute of the match. In the 53rd minute, Glencoe City's Ronnie Hewitson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. A collision led to Glencoe City getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ronnie Hewitson hit a great ball. Glencoe City's Stuart McFarlane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin McNeilly in the 59th minute of play. Benjamin McNeilly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stuart McFarlane having to interfere. If Edmond Low had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Glencoe City's Ronnie Hewitson in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 79th match minute, Narrow Lake City FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Larry Daniels to maneuver through the defense. Fergus McMinn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Guy Christie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guy Christie was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ken Landers showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 89 minute of play. Fergus McMinn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Glencoe City left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Narrow Lake City FC.
