If Guy May had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ray Airth was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 27 minutes, Ricky Porter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bembridge and the Mallaig AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th minute, Ricky Porter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Ray Airth sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Bembridge's Gus Mitchell didn't even have to move. Gus Mitchell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Cluny in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Gavin McLean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 46 minutes into the game, Nicholas McHendrie recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Murray McNaughton. Nicholas McHendrie showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jacob McKenrick to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guy May in the 59th minute of play forced Mallaig AFC's goalkeeper Murray McNaughton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Murray McNaughton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guy May, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 71 minutes, Eric Cluny managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mallaig AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Cluny was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bembridge's goalkeeper Gus Mitchell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eric Cluny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gus Mitchell having to interfere. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mallaig AFC's goalkeeper Murray McNaughton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Murray McNaughton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guy May, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Nicholas McHendrie might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Murray McNaughton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicholas McHendrie ran back to his position shaking his head. Mallaig AFC's Murray McNaughton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guy May in the 95th minute of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Bembridge were victorious despite being under pressure from Mallaig AFC for much of the match.
