Spectators: 6806 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1806, VIP seats: 0) Denny's Martin Stalker started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Denny booed when Currie FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugh Frizell didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute, Edmond McMillan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 13th play minutes Martin Stalker shot 0-1, a short shot which went by George Suttie and just under the crossbar into goal. Edmond McMillan's late challenge caught a Denny's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmond McMillan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th minute, Edmond McMillan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, Martin Stalker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Martin Stalker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. George Suttie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29thth minute of the game Ron Lewis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Currie FC's George Suttie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Steve McKessock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gordon McDuff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. George Suttie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Richard Foristar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Kieran McCaul made a huge save. With a little luck, Denny's Kieran McCaul got control of the ball when Richard Foristar tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Denny's Kenneth Sandison got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The Currie FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Denny were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Steve McKessock to strike the kick off in the second half. Kieran McCaul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Foristar, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Steve McKessock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 59 minutes, Steve McKessock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Currie FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steve McKessock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martin Stalker scored 0-2 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of George Suttie, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 69 minutes into the match, Currie FC's goalkeeper George Suttie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gordon McDuff. The long shot by Kevin Niven in the 73rd minute really tested George Suttie's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Denny's Gordon McDuff got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edmond McMillan was shown his second yellow card after 76 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Currie FC's Edmond McMillan got a free kick in the 76th minute. Gordon McDuff had several of the Currie FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 79 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed George Suttie as he didn't even see the shot coming. Wally McNeilage kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. George Suttie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Stalker's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aiden Munn during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Denny's Aiden Munn got a free kick in the 85th minute. Denny's Martin Stalker got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gordon McDuff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. George Suttie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Stalker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but George Suttie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Martin Stalker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
